{"id":2016,"date":"2019-03-22T02:48:39","date_gmt":"2019-03-22T02:48:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=2016"},"modified":"2019-03-22T02:48:39","modified_gmt":"2019-03-22T02:48:39","slug":"labor-to-deliver-justice-for-light-rail-victims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2019\/03\/22\/labor-to-deliver-justice-for-light-rail-victims\/","title":{"rendered":"Labor to deliver justice for light rail victims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\">Michael Daley and Labor will set aside $100 million to make sure the affected residents and businesses devastated by Premier Berejiklian\u2019s botched Sydney Light Rail project will be properly compensated so they can repair the damage done to their lives and livelihoods by Premier Berejiklian\u2019s pet project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Labor\u2019s plan will provide additional resources for residents and businesses who are affected so they can get back on their feet and restore some order to their lives wrecked by this project which has dragged on for years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">A Daley Labor Government will also ask the independent NSW Ombudsman to examine complaints made in the past to determine whether Transport for NSW dealt with complainants fairly and in good faith.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Residents and businesses affected by these disastrous project have suffered;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p3\">Property damage<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Excessive dust &amp; debris<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Construction at all hours<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Excessive noise at all hours<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Excessive light<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Loss of access to homes and businesses<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Loss of foot traffic and trade<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Destruction of heritage and loss of public space<\/li>\n<li class=\"p3\">Reduced accessibility to homes and businesses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\">NSW Labor Leader Michael Daley said, \u201cResidents and businesses affected by this botched project have been waiting for years for a Government that treats them with the respect they deserve.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\u201cPremier Berejiklian and Minister Constance haven\u2019t listened to the people affected by this project, residents and businesses feel completely ignored by the Government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\u201cThis is long overdue for the residents and businesses across Sydney who have been hurt by these projects.
