{"id":19820,"date":"2023-01-16T13:39:19","date_gmt":"2023-01-16T13:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=19820"},"modified":"2023-01-16T13:39:19","modified_gmt":"2023-01-16T13:39:19","slug":"driving-growth-and-investment-across-the-central-coast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2023\/01\/16\/driving-growth-and-investment-across-the-central-coast\/","title":{"rendered":"Driving growth and investment across the Central Coast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than $23 million is being invested by the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government to unlock housing, jobs, and opportunities for the Central Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Central Coast Strategy for Economic Growth will be released today, together with the Draft Central Coast Regional Transport Plan, supporting the NSW Government\u2019s vision to drive growth and investment across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister for Infrastructure, Cities and Active Transport Rob Stokes said the Central Coast Strategy for Economic Growth had a particular focus on unlocking land for employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe know the Central Coast is an incredible place to live and play. We\u2019re now investing in unlocking key employment sites to create the jobs and opportunities for the future, strengthening the local economy and improving lives,\u201d Mr Stokes said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Central Coast will thrive as part of the NSW Government\u2019s Six Cities vision. With commitments for faster rail at Wyong and a new university campus at Gosford, we\u2019re backing the Central Coast to grow a stronger economy, invest in better services, and make lives easier for local families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Sam Farraway said the&nbsp;Draft Central Coast Regional Transport Plan has also identified 80 initiatives which include an upgraded interchange on the M1 at Ourimbah and more connected neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Central Coast is a region on the move \u2013 with increasing tourism, expanding employment areas and a population that\u2019s set to grow by 70,000 people by 2041,\u201d Mr Farraway said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe draft plan highlights the initiatives worth investigating to ensure the Central Coast continues to be well-connected by a safe, efficient and accessible transport network.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Adam Crouch said the community\u2019s feedback would continue to be critical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re already in the process of delivering some of these projects including an upgrade to the Pacific Highway at Lisarow, accessibility improvements to Tuggerah Station and changes to the intersection of Ocean Beach Road and Rawson Road,\u201d Mr Crouch said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese changes will secure the future growth of a region which is already a great place to live, work and play.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Central Coast Strategy for Economic Growth was informed by community consultation beginning in 2020 and can be viewed&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgreatercities.au%2Finnovation-districts%2Fdistricts&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cwebmaster%40nsw.liberal.org.au%7C5d6e32bf11c4477ba37708daf694175b%7Cf7b9e888f8a7467190c0d6ca09a51633%7C0%7C0%7C638093414051414076%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=kmFJMCJobFWargrBkYlNthbIiLv2YgFz33q2cuqWcZc%3D&amp;reserved=0\">here<\/a>.
