A cyclist has died after being hit by a truck at Newcastle this morning.
\nJust before 9.30am (Wednesday 20 March 2019), emergency services were called to the intersection of King and Perkins streets, Newcastle East, after a cyclist and a truck collided.
\nThe cyclist, a woman, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.
\nShe has not been formally identified.
\nThe truck driver was uninjured and taken to the Mater Hospital for mandatory testing.
\nOfficers from Newcastle City Police District attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
