{"id":19765,"date":"2023-01-10T01:31:18","date_gmt":"2023-01-10T01:31:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=19765"},"modified":"2023-01-10T01:31:18","modified_gmt":"2023-01-10T01:31:18","slug":"reinforcing-nsw-as-a-global-quantum-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2023\/01\/10\/reinforcing-nsw-as-a-global-quantum-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Reinforcing NSW as a global quantum centre"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quantum computing startups and deep-tech companies will be supported to\u00a0 advance their innovations through the NSW Government\u2019s new $7 million Quantum Computing Commercialisation Fund.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology Alister Henskens said NSW\u2019s quantum ecosystem is uniquely placed to be a global leader of quantum technologies.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThanks to the NSW Liberal and Nationals Government\u2019s strategic investment over the past decade, NSW is leading the nation in quantum research and development, boasting world-leading companies such as Silicon Quantum Computing, Diraq and Q-CTRL,\u201d Mr Henskens said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cOur\u00a0<em>20-Year R&amp;D Roadmap\u00a0<\/em>recently identified our world class quantum ecosystem as an area of competitive advantage, and\u00a0we want to help our State flourish in this area to create new jobs and industries which will grow the economy and help secure a brighter future for the people of NSW.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThis fund will target both startups and existing deep-tech companies to ensure that innovative projects are accelerated towards commercialising quantum computing, maintaining our momentum and reinforcing NSW\u2019s position as a global quantum centre of excellence.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>NSW Chief Scientist &amp;
