{"id":18609,"date":"2022-10-13T08:32:30","date_gmt":"2022-10-13T08:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=18609"},"modified":"2022-10-13T08:32:30","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T08:32:30","slug":"further-festivals-and-events-funding-available-to-multicultural-communities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2022\/10\/13\/further-festivals-and-events-funding-available-to-multicultural-communities\/","title":{"rendered":"Further Festivals and Events Funding Available to Multicultural Communities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further funding is available for festivals and events that celebrate the rich cultural spirit of our State through the NSW Government\u2019s Stronger Together Festival and Event Grants Program.<br>\u00a0<br>Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure said local groups and community organisations can now apply for a share of $500,000 through the program.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cCommunity festivals and events are integral to the success of NSW and provide a meaningful way to share in our state\u2019s cultural diversity,\u201d Mr Coure said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThese celebrations bring the colour and vibrancy of cultures across the world to our local communities.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cMost importantly, they serve to break down barriers between people by fostering mutual respect and understanding.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>The program has previously funded vibrant events such as Little India Harris Park Business Association\u2019s 2022 Deepawali Festival in Parramatta, the Australian Korean Association\u2019s Korean Festival in Strathfield and Buddha\u2019s Light International Association\u2019s Moon Festival in Willoughby.<br>\u00a0<br>Mr Coure said this funding is in addition to the more than $1 million the NSW Government has already invested in cultural events and festivals this year.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cIf you are an organiser of a community festival or event anywhere in NSW, now is your chance to apply for funding to support community harmony.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>The Stronger Together Festival and Events Grants provide between $5,000 and $15,000 towards the running of celebrations held between 1 February 2023 and 30 June 2023.<br>\u00a0<br>The grants program is now open.
