{"id":18574,"date":"2022-10-10T10:28:47","date_gmt":"2022-10-10T10:28:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=18574"},"modified":"2022-10-10T10:28:47","modified_gmt":"2022-10-10T10:28:47","slug":"damage-reporting-encouraged-as-wet-weather-ramps-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2022\/10\/10\/damage-reporting-encouraged-as-wet-weather-ramps-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Damage reporting encouraged as wet weather ramps up"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Farmers and landholders across the State are being urged to plan ahead and report any flood damage to their properties, with severe weather conditions predicted to surge over the next week.<br>\u00a0<br>Minister for Agriculture and Western NSW Dugald Saunders said it is critical that landholders are prepared for the wet conditions and encouraged them to report damage using the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) disaster\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsurvey123.arcgis.com%2Fshare%2F7a33fb9a7f084f089ab6c7df5f8d59a0%3FportalUrl%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2FTrade.maps.arcgis.com&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cwebmaster%40nsw.liberal.org.au%7C61dce1d72ba34d9e9b8608daaa3e3e54%7Cf7b9e888f8a7467190c0d6ca09a51633%7C0%7C0%7C638009483064027054%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=gWYOKl%2B4fk%2FNINeo4lQAL1H9l2azvJ9p17HlWUV6BgE%3D&amp;reserved=0\">damage survey<\/a>.<br>\u00a0<br>&#8220;The wet weather period we are experiencing continues to be a real challenge at a critical time for our $21 billion primary industries sector in NSW,\u201d Minister Saunders said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThat\u2019s why it is important for landholders across the State to report any flood damage to their properties, including land, infrastructure and animals.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThe survey feedback helps the NSW Government and communities understand the scale and regional distribution of the impact of a disaster on agriculture and better target resources and assistance.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>With the forecast for further rainfall and increased flooding over the coming days, livestock producers are reminded that the NSW Government Agriculture and Animal Services Functional Area (AASFA) hotline,\u00a0<strong>1800 814 647<\/strong>, provides immediate assistance for affected farmers, landowners and communities in isolated areas.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThe AASFA hotline provides urgent support in the form of emergency fodder drops, aerial surveillance of your property and veterinary assistance for flood-affected animals and livestock,\u201d Mr Saunders said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cSince the heavy rain began last week, we have already assisted three farmers in Western NSW with emergency fodder drops because their livestock was stranded.
