{"id":18007,"date":"2022-08-31T02:19:20","date_gmt":"2022-08-31T02:19:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=18007"},"modified":"2022-08-31T02:19:20","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T02:19:20","slug":"new-youth-voices-advise-on-future-of-children-and-young-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2022\/08\/31\/new-youth-voices-advise-on-future-of-children-and-young-people\/","title":{"rendered":"New youth voices advise on future of children and young people"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A group of impressive and inspiring young people from across the state have been appointed to the 2022-23 Youth Advisory Council that will advise the NSW Government on matters impacting children and young people.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>Minister for Families and Communities and Minister for Disability Services Natasha Maclaren-Jones said 12 newly appointment members of the Youth Advisory Council will work together to provide advice to NSW Government during their one-year term.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cWe know that young people know what\u2019s best for them and by actively listening and responding to young people, we ensure we are creating policies and services that truly reflect their needs,\u201d Mrs Maclaren-Jones said.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cI congratulate the 12 members of the Council on their appointments and I look forward to working closely with them to ensure the NSW Government is best supporting our children and young people to achieve the best start in life.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>Following an extensive recruitment process that saw more than 500 young people aged 12 to 24 apply, the Youth Advisory Council will have the opportunity to influence decisions that will create positive outcomes for their peers.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cBeing part of the NSW Youth Advisory Council gives young advocates an opportunity to effect real change.
