{"id":17955,"date":"2022-08-27T15:07:32","date_gmt":"2022-08-27T15:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=17955"},"modified":"2022-08-27T15:07:32","modified_gmt":"2022-08-27T15:07:32","slug":"calling-all-justice-tech-trailblazers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2022\/08\/27\/calling-all-justice-tech-trailblazers\/","title":{"rendered":"Calling all justice tech trailblazers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Technology trailblazers, legal professionals and community groups with innovative proposals to increase access to justice are being invited to apply for the latest round of the NSW Government\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.justice.nsw.gov.au%2Flsb%2FPages%2Faccess-to-justice-innovation-fund.aspx&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cwebmaster%40nsw.liberal.org.au%7C4503c5da81384167931308da872274fb%7Cf7b9e888f8a7467190c0d6ca09a51633%7C0%7C0%7C637970879317736775%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=v68whOXckrr8FGTURsdPUOv1vKOzE5o0ZrQpaAGOb6w%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Access to Justice Innovation Fund<\/a>&nbsp;(AJIF) grants.<br>&nbsp;<br>Attorney General Mark Speakman said AJIF grants totaling up to $250,000 are available to fund projects that can help resolve common legal problems and reduce barriers to justice.<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cMaking it easier for people, especially those in disadvantaged communities, to solve common legal problems quickly and easily is a key priority for the NSW Government,\u201d Mr Speakman said.<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cWe know that technology and innovative approaches have an important role to play in supporting and enhancing access to justice.<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cOver the past three years, we have seen some outstanding projects developed through the AJIF program that are now making a real difference to people\u2019s lives.<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cProviding innovators with the opportunity and the funding to enhance the way we do things in the justice space is an investment in our state\u2019s future.\u201d<br>&nbsp;<br>AJIF grants are allocated to new, low cost, high impact projects that reduce barriers to the justice system, with a focus on communities experiencing disadvantage.<br>&nbsp;<br>Projects can include those that aim:&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>to explore new approaches to the delivery of legal assistance services and the resolution of legal problems<\/li><li>to help people to navigate and access the justice system<\/li><li>to promote collaborative approaches&nbsp;to reducing barriers to justice<\/li><li>to demonstrate how technology can improve access to, and user experience of, the justice system.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<br>The AJIF was set up in 2018 as a four-year, $1 million project to support the development of innovative access to justice ideas.<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br>Previous grant recipients include Justice Connect, the University of Sydney, the University of Newcastle and the Newcastle Women\u2019s Domestic Violence Advocacy Service.<br>&nbsp;<br>Applications for AJIF grants will close at 11.59pm on 28 October 2022.<br>&nbsp;<br>More information is available&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.justice.nsw.gov.au%2Flsb%2FPages%2Faccess-to-justice-innovation-fund.aspx&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cwebmaster%40nsw.liberal.org.au%7C4503c5da81384167931308da872274fb%7Cf7b9e888f8a7467190c0d6ca09a51633%7C0%7C0%7C637970879317892864%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=6IbqBEKJjiZTI2O3gjiA%2FTaLlHqiSU7Jk%2FbD3Rx9n3Y%3D&amp;reserved=0\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Technology trailblazers, legal professionals and community groups with innovative proposals to increase access to justice are being invited to apply for the latest round of the NSW Government\u2019s&nbsp;Access to Justice Innovation Fund&nbsp;(AJIF) grants.&nbsp;Attorney General Mark Speakman said AJIF grants totaling up to $250,000 are available to fund projects that can help resolve common legal problems &hellip;
