That is why the NSW Government is committed to strengthening criminal law protections for frontline workers as distinct, grave offences through this bill.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThe\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.parliament.nsw.gov.au%2Fbills%2FPages%2Fbill-details.aspx%3Fpk%3D3994&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cwebmaster%40nsw.liberal.org.au%7C65718205c0cd458e06c408da7bdeae7f%7Cf7b9e888f8a7467190c0d6ca09a51633%7C0%7C0%7C637958493882071346%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=PqsI%2F2RGJfAGWEb04m054l64%2FujoBADImOF8Jihl9u0%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Crimes Legislation Amendment (Assaults on Frontline Emergency and Health Workers) Bill 2022<\/a>\u00a0contains a suite of important reforms for the better protection of health and emergency services workers who commit their working lives to keeping our community safe.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThe new offences recognise that acts of violence against these workers merit express and distinct recognition, and higher penalties than currently available under the general assault provisions in the\u00a0<em>Crimes Act 1900<\/em>.
