{"id":17727,"date":"2022-08-12T18:27:33","date_gmt":"2022-08-12T18:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=17727"},"modified":"2022-08-12T18:27:33","modified_gmt":"2022-08-12T18:27:33","slug":"bays-west-stage-1-rezoning-on-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2022\/08\/12\/bays-west-stage-1-rezoning-on-exhibition\/","title":{"rendered":"Bays West Stage 1 rezoning on exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Four hectares of new public open space, affordable housing, thousands of jobs, and the revitalisation of White Bay Power Station, are highlights of rezoning plans aimed at transforming part of Sydney\u2019s inner harbour.<br>\u00a0<br>Minister for Planning and Minister for Homes Anthony Roberts said the Stage 1 rezoning proposal to change planning rules around the White Bay Power Station and\u00a0 Bays Metro Station are on public exhibition.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cWe heard during the exhibition of the Stage 1 draft Master Plan, that development needed to match the character of the area, traffic must be considered, and public open space provided,\u201d Mr Roberts said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThis feedback has been reflected in our proposed rezoning plans that include an infrastructure delivery plan, supporting the delivery of around 250 homes; a commitment to affordable housing; a range of building heights, providing a varied skyline; more than four hectares of new public open and green space; and community infrastructure.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cBays West will play an important role in the continued growth and economic success of Greater Sydney and the NSW economy over the next 20 years, so it\u2019s important we get this plan right.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>Minister for Infrastructure, Cities and Active Transport Rob Stokes said the proposed rezoning would also support nealy 5,000 jobs and the revitalisation and protection of White Bay Power Station.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cBays West, which covers Rozelle Bay and White Bay, will complete the inner harbour puzzel,\u00a0and provide a glittering setting for people to live, work and visit,\u201d Mr Stokes said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cWe want to reimagine this stunning and historically significant precinct, transforming it into a world-class destination.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cI urge everyone to have their say on the plans and help turn this vision into reality.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>To provide feedback on the rezoning package, please visit\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.planning.nsw.gov.au%2Fbayswest&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cwebmaster%40nsw.liberal.org.au%7C3bf0d36799a3405d706108da7be7291c%7Cf7b9e888f8a7467190c0d6ca09a51633%7C0%7C0%7C637958530749367245%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=oL2s1pE7P4Or8fiEhMXM6y9%2BWz9enaPWzDo2GaheIxA%3D&amp;reserved=0\">https:\/\/www.planning.nsw.gov.au\/bayswest<\/a>.
