{"id":177,"date":"2018-10-22T03:35:04","date_gmt":"2018-10-22T03:35:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=177"},"modified":"2018-10-22T03:35:04","modified_gmt":"2018-10-22T03:35:04","slug":"singletons-cody-heffernan-nabs-pbr-dubbo-invitational-title-with-rousing-final-ride-of-the-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2018\/10\/22\/singletons-cody-heffernan-nabs-pbr-dubbo-invitational-title-with-rousing-final-ride-of-the-night\/","title":{"rendered":"SINGLETON&#039;S CODY HEFFERNAN NABS PBR DUBBO INVITATIONAL TITLE WITH ROUSING FINAL RIDE OF THE NIGHT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday evening&#8217;s <strong><em>Professional Bull Riders<\/em><\/strong> <strong>( <em>PBR) Monster Energy Tour: Dubbo Invitational<\/em><\/strong>, concluded in dramatic fashion, coming down to the wire as current Australian <strong>#4 Cody Heffernan<\/strong> clinched victory with a rousing 89-point ride on the final buck off of the night.<br \/>\nTaking place at <strong>Dubbo Showgrounds<\/strong> in PBR&#8217;s new state-of-the-art mobile stadium before a capacity crowd, the event attracted 22 of the nation&#8217;s top riders, including the top five riders on the current Australian Standings.<br \/>\nHeffernan&#8217;s picture perfect final ride upon TNR&#8217;s <em>Call Me Joe<\/em> saw him narrowly pip current Australian #1 Aaron Kleier to the Dubbo Invitational title &#8211; solidifying Heffernan as a serious 2018\u00a0 title contender with only one event left until the PBR Australia Grand Finals in Townsville on November 23 &amp; 24.<br \/>\nThe Dubbo Invitational also attracted some of the best bulls in the sport, with superstar bovines wowing local audiences including the likes of <strong>TnR&#8217;s &#8216;Call Me Joe&#8217;, John Gill and Sons&#8217; &#8216;High Flying Akubra&#8217;<\/strong>, <strong>Hempenstall&#8217;s &#8216;Doorman&#8217;<\/strong> and <strong>Kasper&#8217;s &#8216;Villain&#8217;<\/strong>.<br \/>\nWith the win, Singleton (NSW)-born Heffernan sent this year&#8217;s title race into overdrive.
