Hunter Multicultural Communities\u2019 new caf\u00e9 officially opened its doors to the public today.
\nFederal Member for Newcastle Sharon Claydon launched the caf\u00e9, which is set to become a centrepiece for Hunter Multicultural Communities\u2019 Waratah site.
\nMs Claydon said she was pleased to provide funding for the caf\u00e9 under the Stronger Communities Program.
\n\u201cI was very pleased to give Hunter Multicultural Communities a $15,000 grant to fit out the kitchen in the caf\u00e9 including counters, the coffee machine and fridge.
\n\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to see this fabulous project become a reality. So many people have invested so much time and energy in getting it to this point.\u201d
\nMs Claydon said the caf\u00e9 would be used for a number of purposes.
\n\u201cIt will provide a great training space for budding young baristas and chefs to learn new skills.
\n\u201cI\u2019m also looking forward to the theme nights which will showcase food from a different country each night.\u201d
\nMs Claydon said the multicultural caf\u00e9 was the perfect fit for Newcastle.
\n\u201cNewcastle is a diverse, inclusive city that welcomes newcomers,\u201d Ms Claydon said.
\n\u201cThe caf\u00e9 will attract people who wouldn\u2019t normally come to Hunter Multicultural Communities site.
