{"id":16427,"date":"2022-05-03T03:21:44","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T03:21:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=16427"},"modified":"2022-05-03T03:21:44","modified_gmt":"2022-05-03T03:21:44","slug":"investment-to-unlock-homes-in-booming-west","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2022\/05\/03\/investment-to-unlock-homes-in-booming-west\/","title":{"rendered":"Investment to unlock homes in booming west"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The NSW Government is ramping up its investment\u00a0in vital infrastructure to support the delivery of more than 30,000 new homes in areas of Western Sydney that are experiencing record growth.<br>\u00a0<br>Premier Dominic Perrottet and Minister for Planning and Minister for Homes Anthony Roberts today announced twenty-four council-led projects have been selected for funding through the second round of the NSW Government\u2019s Accelerated Infrastructure Fund (AIF).<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cWe are supporting growing communities with a $139 million investment to speed up the delivery of important local infrastructure plans, including upgrades to roads and drainage systems, expanding public spaces and creating new sports facilities,\u2019 Mr Perrottet said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThis is about State Government working with local government to unlock land, build ciritical infrastructure and ultimately deliver thousands of homes across Western Sydney.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cOur strong economic management means we can invest more in communities and build what matters. This is how we&#8217;re securing a brighter future for NSW families.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>The proposals selected \u2013 worth more than half a billion dollars in total \u2013 are being delivered by seven councils, following the expansion of the AIF to include the high-growth councils of Blacktown, The Hills, Hawkesbury, Penrith, Liverpool, Camden, and Campbelltown.<br>\u00a0<br>Minister for Planning and Minister for Homes Anthony Roberts said combined, the projects will create up to 2,200 construction jobs as well as unlocking 570 hectares of employment land dedicated to creating more jobs closer to home.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cWe know people want to live in these areas and that\u2019s why we\u2019re focused on getting homes built, with the right infrastructure in place from the get-go. In supporting councils to deliver these projects, we\u2019re also giving industry greater certainty for investment into Western Sydney.
