{"id":1559,"date":"2019-02-15T01:53:21","date_gmt":"2019-02-15T01:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=1559"},"modified":"2019-02-15T01:53:21","modified_gmt":"2019-02-15T01:53:21","slug":"city-launches-convenient-civil-works-mapping-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2019\/02\/15\/city-launches-convenient-civil-works-mapping-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"City launches convenient civil works mapping tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ity of Newcastle (CN) has today launched a new interactive mapping tool to help residents track the latest civil works projects happening across our LGA.<br \/>\nFrom large road maintenance activities to major development projects, the interactive map provides a location and overview of the types of activities the City is delivering &#8211; all on the one page.<br \/>\nIts intuitive design makes it easier for people to stay informed and in touch with the City\u2019s 2018-19 Civil Works Program.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"mapping2.JPG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.newcastle.nsw.gov.au\/getattachment\/Council\/News\/Latest-News\/City-launches-convenient-civil-works-mapping-tool\/mapping2.JPG.aspx\" alt=\"mapping2.JPG\" \/><br \/>\n\u201cThis online mapping tool will streamline communication to residents and fastrack important information about the current projects that have commenced,\u201d Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes said.<br \/>\n\u201cBy simply logging on to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newcastle.nsw.gov.au\/Council\/News\/Projects-Works\/Civil-works-update\">City\u2019s Civil Works Update page,<\/a>\u00a0users can get an instant snapshot of the various works that are taking shape across the City in real time.\u201d<br \/>\nA number of significant projects which will be delivered before 30 June include a $7.1 million upgrade of local bridges, $8.2 million towards Newcastle&#8217;s Smart City program, $8.1 million to renew and upgrade the existing storm water network and $7.9 million on a solar farm to be built at the Summerhill Waste Centre.<br \/>\nRenewing parks, open spaces and sporting facilities ($5.4 million), allocating money to our cultural facilities ($5.1 million) and increasing cycling links around the City ($2.6 million) are also included in the delivery program.<br \/>\nTo take a look at the online map, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newcastle.nsw.gov.au\/Council\/News\/Projects-Works\/Civil-works-update\">http:\/\/www.newcastle.nsw.gov.au\/Council\/News\/Projects-Works\/Civil-works-update<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ity of Newcastle (CN) has today launched a new interactive mapping tool to help residents track the latest civil works projects happening across our LGA.
