{"id":15356,"date":"2022-03-09T11:30:19","date_gmt":"2022-03-09T11:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=15356"},"modified":"2022-03-09T11:30:19","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T11:30:19","slug":"doors-open-at-flood-recovery-centres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2022\/03\/09\/doors-open-at-flood-recovery-centres\/","title":{"rendered":"Doors open at flood Recovery Centres"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dedicated community Recovery Centres are now operating in Ballina, Casino, Kyogle, Lismore, Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah to provide face-to-face support for locals affected by the unprecedented flood event.<br>\u00a0<br>Premier Dominic Perrottet said Resilience NSW staff at each Recovery Centre would help flood victims navigate through the tough recovery process following unprecedented floods.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cNSW Government agencies plus a range of community organisations and welfare bodies will work from these Recovery Centres to assist individuals, businesses, farmers and landholders dealing with the fallout from the record-breaking storms and flooding,\u201d Mr Perrottet said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cWe have seen communities devastated by the floods and these recovery centres in Northern NSW are vital to supporting locals.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>Deputy Premier Paul Toole said the Recovery Centres would allow impacted locals to get the help they need to get back on their feet as quickly as possible.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cIt\u2019s difficult to know where to even begin after losing a home or a business, and these Centres will provide on-the-ground practical advice for things like how to get a roof over your head or replace lost documents, how to get clean-up assistance or financial and wellbeing support,\u201d Mr Toole said.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cThese floods have been tough enough for too many, and these one-stop shops will hopefully make it that little bit easier to get support right now.\u201d<br>\u00a0<br>Minister for Emergency Services and Resilience and Minister for Flood Recovery Steph Cooke said the Recovery Centres are staffed by expert personnel who can guide individuals and families to the various forms of support available.<br>\u00a0<br>\u201cI urge everyone in our flood-affected communities to register for the clean-up services, financial assistance, insurance and legal support, business support and mental health services already being offered as part of our multi-agency response,\u201d Ms Cooke said.<br>\u00a0<br>Additional Recovery Centres will be established across the State as communities begin to transition from response into the clean-up and recovery processes.<br>\u00a0<br>For those wanting to be assisted remotely,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aus01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.service.nsw.gov.au%2Ffloods&amp;data=04%7C01%7Cwebmaster%40nsw.liberal.org.au%7C7c880fef4757477557c008da018ae6bb%7Cf7b9e888f8a7467190c0d6ca09a51633%7C0%7C0%7C637823993467365712%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&amp;sdata=ijzIBh383udKIaBi8%2BkLsTXR1xcSc7mbo2LwrzZG0uc%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Service NSW<\/a>\u00a0is operating as an online one-stop-shop, with Customer Care specialists also available on the phone via 13 77 88.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dedicated community Recovery Centres are now operating in Ballina, Casino, Kyogle, Lismore, Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah to provide face-to-face support for locals affected by the unprecedented flood event.\u00a0Premier Dominic Perrottet said Resilience NSW staff at each Recovery Centre would help flood victims navigate through the tough recovery process following unprecedented floods.\u00a0\u201cNSW Government agencies plus a range &hellip;
