The latest labour force figures show that the Coalition Government\u2019s plan for a stronger economy is working.
\nThe latest figures, released today by the ABS, show that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell by 0.3 percentage points over the month, to stand at 5.0 per cent in September \u2013 the lowest level since April 2012.
\nSeasonally adjusted employment now stands at a record high of 12,636,300, and is 280,900 higher than it was a year ago.
\nFull-time employment increased strongly, by 20,300 over the month, to stand at a record high of 8,654,400, and is now 217,500 higher than it was a year ago.
\nEncouragingly, female full-time employment is at a record high of 3,178,300.
\n\u201cThese figures show that the Coalition Government\u2019s plan for a stronger economy is working,\u201d the Minister for Jobs and Industrial Relations, the Hon Kelly O\u2019Dwyer MP, said.
\n\u201c1,149,600 jobs have been created since the Coalition came to office in 2013, an increase of 10 per cent.
