{"id":14344,"date":"2021-12-20T05:30:54","date_gmt":"2021-12-20T05:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=14344"},"modified":"2021-12-20T05:30:54","modified_gmt":"2021-12-20T05:30:54","slug":"vaccine-booster-rollout-gathers-pace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2021\/12\/20\/vaccine-booster-rollout-gathers-pace\/","title":{"rendered":"Vaccine booster rollout gathers pace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NSW Government\u2019s booster program continues to ramp up with NSW Health already delivering\u00a0more than 120,000 vaccine booster doses to help keep people safe and increase levels of immunity to COVID-19.<br \/>\nOn Friday, NSW Health clinics delivered the highest daily total since the rollout of the program, up from 2000 doses two weeks ago, in support of the Federal Government\u2019s vaccine program.<br \/>\nPeople are eligible for a booster 5 months after a second dose and NSW Health can accommodate people about to travel who might need a slightly earlier appointment.<br \/>\nThe number of people eligible to receive a booster will increase steadily in 2022, with around 40 per cent of the NSW population to be eligible at the end of January, 64 per cent in February, 87 per cent in March, and 91 per cent by April 2022.<br \/>\nNSW Premier Dominic Perrottet thanked people for coming forward to get their booster shots and urged every eligible person to book in as soon as possible.<br \/>\n\u201cAs we navigate our way out of the pandemic, we remain focused on saving lives and protecting livelihoods and getting your booster shot will offer you protection against COVID,\u201d Mr Perrottet said.<br \/>\n\u201cOur frontline health workers have been incredible over the past two years and their dedication is greatly appreciated.
