{"id":14269,"date":"2021-12-14T17:08:23","date_gmt":"2021-12-14T17:08:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=14269"},"modified":"2021-12-14T17:08:23","modified_gmt":"2021-12-14T17:08:23","slug":"8-million-for-more-greenspace-so-everyone-can-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2021\/12\/14\/8-million-for-more-greenspace-so-everyone-can-play\/","title":{"rendered":"$8 million for more greenspace so everyone can play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More inclusive playspaces will be rolled out across the state, with $4 million to be shared between 29 councils in the fourth and final round of the NSW Government\u2019s Everyone Can Play program.<br \/>\nMinister for Planning and Public Spaces Rob Stokes said the funding will support the delivery of 33 new or upgraded playspaces across NSW.<br \/>\n\u201cAll communities should have access to great public spaces, and the Everyone Can Play program is providing people of all ages and abilities with places to come together and have fun,\u201d Mr Stokes said.<br \/>\n\u201cSince 2018\u00a0we\u2019ve invested $15 million into 108 new or improved playspaces\u00a0in Greater Sydney and regional NSW.\u00a0We\u2019re thrilled to announce funding for another 33 projects, providing more and better public play facilities everyone can enjoy.<br \/>\n\u201cThis award-winning program asks three simple questions to inform best practice inclusive design \u2013 Can I get there? Can I play? Can I stay?\u201d<br \/>\nSome of the 33 projects funded in the final round of the Everyone Can Play program include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wollongong City Council: $200,000 for an inclusive playspace in Stuart Park;<\/li>\n<li>City of Canada Bay Council: $200,000 for an inclusive nature playspace in Queen Elizabeth Park;<\/li>\n<li>Goulburn Mulwaree Council: $200,000 for a new inclusive nature playspace in Marulan Village;<\/li>\n<li>Georges River Council: $200,000 for a new inclusive playspace in Oleander Reserve;<\/li>\n<li>Cumberland City Council: $75,000 for an upgrade to the Ruth Street Park playspace; and<\/li>\n<li>Upper Hunter Shire Council: $74,000 for an upgrade to the Amaroo Park playspace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Everyone Can Play program was established in 2018 as part of the NSW Government\u2019s $290 million Open Spaces and Greener Sydney package.
