{"id":14151,"date":"2021-12-04T00:05:27","date_gmt":"2021-12-04T00:05:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=14151"},"modified":"2021-12-04T00:05:27","modified_gmt":"2021-12-04T00:05:27","slug":"goulburn-hospital-delivers-first-class-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2021\/12\/04\/goulburn-hospital-delivers-first-class-care\/","title":{"rendered":"Goulburn Hospital delivers first-class care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Southern Tablelands community will benefit from a major upgrade of hospital services with the official opening of Goulburn Hospital\u2019s clinical services building.<br \/>\nPremier Dominic Perrottet, Deputy Premier Paul Toole, Health Minister Brad Hazzard and MP for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman marked the milestone, which is part of the $165 million Goulburn Hospital and Health Service redevelopment.<br \/>\n\u201cWe\u2019re making record investments in our health system across our State to ensure that no matter where you live in NSW you will have access to the best healthcare services,\u201d Mr Perrottet said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Goulburn Hospital redevelopment will provide a major health boost for people in Southern NSW with this new clinical services building improving health outcomes and future-proofing health services for communities in the Southern Tablelands region.\u201d<br \/>\nDeputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said the NSW Government was pushing ahead with a record $900 million investment in regional and rural health in 2021-22 to deliver new and upgraded infrastructure, enhanced services and more jobs across regional communities.<br \/>\n\u201cWe know how critical it is for communities like Goulburn to have the services they need. That\u2019s why we\u2019re bolstering our investment with an additional $500 million across regional communities to ensure they not only have access to great facilities, but a secure, stable workforce to deliver the quality of care our communities deserve.\u201d<br \/>\nMinister Hazzard said the four-storey building brings state-of-the-art healthcare services together under one roof, providing seamless care in a modern health facility.<br \/>\n\u201cWith a new emergency department and intensive care unit and the latest digital theatres this purpose-built facility will greatly improve the hospital experience for patients, carers and staff,\u201d Mr Hazzard said.<br \/>\nThe NSW Government is investing more than $10.8 billion in health capital infrastructure, with a program of $3.2 billion in 2021-22.<br \/>\nThis continued record investment will ensure the 29 new and upgraded hospitals and health facilities announced in 2019 will commence before March 2023.<br \/>\nMrs Tuckerman said: \u201cThis is a long-awaited day for the entire Goulburn region. I am delighted to see the new facility \u2013 which brings world-class healthcare closer to home \u2013 open and ready to care for Goulburn and surrounding communities for many years to come.\u201d<br \/>\nThe new four-storey clinical services building will feature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Main entry and hospital reception;<\/li>\n<li>Emergency department;<\/li>\n<li>Medical imaging department;<\/li>\n<li>Intensive care unit;<\/li>\n<li>Operating theatres, day surgery and recovery areas;<\/li>\n<li>Medical, surgical, paediatric, rehabilitation inpatient units with specific designated palliative care beds within the Medical IPU;<\/li>\n<li>Maternal and newborn unit, birthing suite and special care nursery, as well as paediatric and antenatal outpatient clinics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The final works stage to complete the redevelopment of the hospital is expected to begin later this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Southern Tablelands community will benefit from a major upgrade of hospital services with the official opening of Goulburn Hospital\u2019s clinical services building.
