{"id":14143,"date":"2021-12-03T00:49:29","date_gmt":"2021-12-03T00:49:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=14143"},"modified":"2021-12-03T00:49:29","modified_gmt":"2021-12-03T00:49:29","slug":"fifa-womens-world-cup-2023-match-schedule-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2021\/12\/03\/fifa-womens-world-cup-2023-match-schedule-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023 match schedule announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Minister for Sport, Richard Colbeck, has welcomed the release of the FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup (FWWC) 2023 match schedule saying it puts our two sport-loving nations in the spotlight.<br \/>\n\u201cWith the opening match of the tournament in New Zealand, and the final in Sydney, the schedule demonstrates the strength in our trans-Tasman partnership,\u201d Minister Colbeck said.<br \/>\n\u201cAustralia and New Zealand boast a passionate fan base, excellent hospitality, robust security arrangements and exciting tourism opportunities.<br \/>\n\u201cThe FWWC will showcase the best of both nations, while bringing considerable economic benefits to help as we recover from the pandemic.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Matildas will kick-off the first match on Australian soil with a showdown at Sydney Football Stadium on 20 July.<br \/>\nAustralia will host six group-stage fixtures at the Sydney Football Stadium, with Perth and Brisbane both hosting five and a further four each taking place in Melbourne and Adelaide.<br \/>\nSydney will also be the venue for the final, on 20 August 2023 at Stadium Australia.<br \/>\nThe matches being played in Australia are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Brisbane \u2013 Brisbane Stadium, 8 games<\/li>\n<li>Sydney \u2013 Stadium Australia and Sydney Football Stadium, 11 games<\/li>\n<li>Melbourne \u2013 Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, 6 games<\/li>\n<li>Adelaide \u2013 Hindmarsh Stadium, 5 games<\/li>\n<li>Perth \u2013 Perth Rectangular Stadium, 5 games<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The FWWC 2023 will be the largest yet, with 32 teams playing.
