{"id":13753,"date":"2021-11-08T08:21:29","date_gmt":"2021-11-08T08:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=13753"},"modified":"2021-11-08T08:21:29","modified_gmt":"2021-11-08T08:21:29","slug":"kids-get-a-kick-out-of-discounted-tickets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2021\/11\/08\/kids-get-a-kick-out-of-discounted-tickets\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids get a kick out of discounted tickets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Children who play football will have an opportunity to be front and centre at the upcoming games between the Matildas and world number one team the United States, with $5 tickets going on sale.<br \/>\nPremier Dominic Perrottet said kids aged 12 years and under, who are registered to play in Australia\u2019s largest club-based participation sport, will be able to access the discounted tickets with an accompanying adult or concession ticket purchase, thanks to the Football Australia initiative.<br \/>\n\u201cThis is an exciting era in Australian women\u2019s football and it\u2019s great our sports-loving kids can witness world-class action right here in NSW,\u201d Mr Perrottet said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe NSW Government will work with Football Australia to ensure this event is COVID-safe and families can enjoy a great atmosphere watching some of the best players in the world.\u201d<br \/>\nMinister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said this is another great coup for NSW and will help to get the state\u2019s visitor economy back on track.<br \/>\n\u201cNSW has kicked another goal bringing out the world champion US team to face-off against our mighty Matildas and is again leading the return of international sport as the nation\u2019s home of football,\u201d Mr Ayres said.<br \/>\nMinister for Sport Natalie Ward said the upcoming blockbuster games were just a taste of what\u2019s to come ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup.<br \/>\n\u201cThis is an amazing opportunity for our kids who play football to cheer on their heroes right here on home soil,\u201d Mrs Ward said.<br \/>\nFootball Australia CEO James Johnson said providing an occasion for the next generation of footballers to see their heroes live was essential for the game\u2019s future.<br \/>\n\u201cThese players are not only some of the best in the world at what they do on the pitch, but are also an inspiration off the pitch as well,\u201d Mr Johnson said.<br \/>\nCommonwealth Bank Matildas midfielder and Newcastle native Emily van Egmond said the team was excited that even more football fans have the chance to see the team live in action.<br \/>\n\u201cMy dreams to play for Australia started on the pitches of Newcastle and I know how amazing it would have been to be able to watch world class footballers when I was growing up.
