A man is in hospital after a truck and a train collided at a level crossing in the Upper Hunter this morning.
\nShortly before 7.15am (Wednesday 29 September 2021), emergency services were called to Turanville Road, Scone, following reports a southbound train and a flatbed truck collided at a level crossing.
\nThe 29-year-old male driver of the truck was trapped by confinement for a short time before being freed by a passer-by.
\nThe man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken by road ambulance to Scone Hospital and later airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
\nThe driver of the train was uninjured.
\nOfficers from Hunter Valley Police District have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
