Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a licenced premises near Lake Macquarie last week.
\nAbout 4.10am last Friday (25 June 2021), two men \u2013 armed with a crowbar and a firearm \u2013 forced entry into a hotel at the corner of Main Road and Harrison Street at Cardiff.
\nThe men allegedly confronted two employees demanding cash, before stealing alcohol and a laptop computer.
\nThe men then fled the premises onto Harrison Street.
\nAbout 7am, the incident was reported to officers from Lake Macquarie Police District, who attended and established a crime scene.
\nInitial inquiries were conducted by local police, before detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took carriage of the investigation.
\nAs inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
