A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a woman in his care last year.
\nPolice will allege that between Monday 1 October 2018 and Thursday 1 November 2018, a 38-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a man while she was in his care.
\nThe incident was reported to Mid North Coast Police District in November 2018 and an investigation commenced.
\nFollowing extensive inquiries, just after 7am today (Wednesday 9 January 2019), officers from Mid North Coast Police District executed a search warrant at a home on Hampton Court, Port Macquarie, where a number of electronic devices were seized.
\nLater that morning, a 62-year-old man attended Port Macquarie Police station where he was arrested.
\nHe was charged with aggravated sexual assault \u2013 victim with cognitive impairment, carer have sexual intercourse \u2013 person cognitive impairment and aggravated indecent assault \u2013 victim has cognitive impairment.
