{"id":11166,"date":"2021-04-28T03:18:35","date_gmt":"2021-04-28T03:18:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=11166"},"modified":"2021-04-28T03:18:35","modified_gmt":"2021-04-28T03:18:35","slug":"nsw-tourism-gets-a-6-5-million-boost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2021\/04\/28\/nsw-tourism-gets-a-6-5-million-boost\/","title":{"rendered":"NSW TOURISM GETS A $6.5 MILLION BOOST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0New South Wales visitor economy\u00a0will\u00a0get\u00a0a boost through two new industry\u00a0support and marketing\u00a0programs.<br \/>\nApplications are open for the $5.5 million Business Events Industry Support package\u00a0and $1 million\u00a0Tourism Industry\u00a0Marketing\u00a0Support package\u00a0through\u00a0the NSW Government\u2019s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW and Sydney\u2019s business events bidding specialists BESydney.<br \/>\nMinister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said these targeted programs would\u00a0support\u00a0the businesses and communities hardest hit by the\u00a0COVID-19\u00a0pandemic.<br \/>\n\u201cWe\u2019re helping\u00a0the\u00a0event owners, businesses, local tourism\u00a0organisations, regional councils and industry groups that need it most by\u00a0stimulating activity now and creating a pipeline of events\u00a0and visitors\u00a0into the\u00a0future.<br \/>\n\u201cThe business events industry is a powerhouse of the NSW visitor economy because it attracts high yield visitors who stay multiple nights, and these events engage many industry partners from accommodation and catering to staging, AV and other event delivery services.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Tourism Industry\u00a0Marketing\u00a0Support\u00a0package offers dollar-for-dollar support to communities that are ready to drive demand\u00a0that translates\u00a0to bookings\u00a0and confidence, for businesses,\u201d\u00a0Mr\u00a0Ayres said.<br \/>\nThe\u00a0programs are part of the NSW Government\u2019s Tourism Support Package and include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$4 million\u00a0<em>Kickstart 2021 Sydney Business Events Fund (administered by BESydney in conjunction with Destination NSW):<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Up to $45,000 for one-day events and up to $90,000 for two-day events\u00a0in Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, matched dollar-for-dollar by event\u00a0organisers<\/li>\n<li><strong>$1.5 million for\u00a0Regional\u00a0Conferencing\u00a0<\/strong>to include an additional round of the\u00a0<em>Regional Business Event Development Fund<\/em>: Up to $15,000 for events with up to 150 delegates, and up to $30,000 for events with more than 150 delegates<\/li>\n<li><strong>$1 million\u00a0<em>Tourism Industry Marketing Support package \u2013 grants\u00a0program:\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Destination NSW will match dollar-for-dollar between $10,000 and $50,000 for operators to deliver marketing activities to promote visitor experiences, attractions, tours and accommodation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe NSW Government is committed to supporting businesses engaged in the visitor\u00a0economy,\u00a0so they have confidence and hope for the future,\u201d\u00a0Mr\u00a0Ayres said.<br \/>\nBoth marketing programs include digital, social media, print and video media placements,\u00a0and are supported by publicity and partnership activity to amplify the message and convert interest to bookings.<br \/>\nTo apply for the Business Events Industry Support package grants and for more information including eligibility criteria and the LGAs relevant to each fund, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.meetinsydney.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.meetinsydney.com.au<\/a>\u00a0for the Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong\u00a0program\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.meetinnsw.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.meetinnsw.com.au<\/a>\u00a0for business events\u00a0elsewhere\u00a0in regional NSW.<br \/>\nTo apply for the Tourism Industry Marketing Support package and for more information including eligibility criteria, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.destinationnsw.com.au\/news-and-media\/tourism-recovery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.destinationnsw.com.au\/news-and-media\/tourism-recovery<\/a>.<br \/>\nCampaign assets are available to download:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.media.destinationnsw.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.media.destinationnsw.com.au<\/a><br \/>\nTo apply for the Tourism Industry Marketing Support package and for more information including eligibility criteria, visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.destinationnsw.com.au\/news-and-media\/tourism-recovery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.destinationnsw.com.au\/news-and-media\/tourism-recovery<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0New South Wales visitor economy\u00a0will\u00a0get\u00a0a boost through two new industry\u00a0support and marketing\u00a0programs.
