Police are appealing for assistance as they investigate an attempted armed robbery in the Hunter overnight.
\nAbout 7.50pm yesterday (Sunday 18 April 2021), a man entered a service station on Metford Road, Metford, where he threatened a male attendant with a knife.
\nHe demanded cash before the attendant refused and the man left the store; he was last seen running towards Turton Road.
\nOfficers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District attended and established a crime scene.
\nThe man was seen wearing a hooded jumper, a red baseball cap, dark pants and shoes with his face covered.
