A woman has been charged with high-range drink driving after allegedly being caught more than six times the legal limit in the Illawarra earlier today.
\nShortly after 10am (Wednesday 17 March 2021), a Mazda 2 was travelling along First Avenue, South Warrawong, when it allegedly mounted the kerb and drove along the footpath, before hitting a tree.
\nOfficers from the Southern Region Enforcement Squad attended a short time later and spoke with the driver, a 66-year-old woman.
\nShe was subject to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.
\nThe woman was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station for a breath analysis, which allegedly returned a reading of 0.306.
\nShe was issued with a court attendance notice for high-range PCA and is due to face Kiama Local Court on Monday 3 May 2021.
