{"id":10565,"date":"2021-03-08T13:36:04","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T13:36:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=10565"},"modified":"2021-03-08T13:36:04","modified_gmt":"2021-03-08T13:36:04","slug":"celebrating-nsw-womens-week-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2021\/03\/08\/celebrating-nsw-womens-week-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"CELEBRATING NSW WOMEN\u2019S WEEK 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Financial independence, more opportunities for rural and regional women and entrepreneurship are among the topics promoting gender equality during NSW Women\u2019s Week, under the theme #ChooseToChallenge.<br \/>\nMinister for Women Bronnie Taylor urged people in NSW to embrace the week\u2019s educational opportunities and recognition of the achievements of women and girls.<br \/>\n\u201cWhen the status of women is advanced, everyone benefits because healthy, actively involved and heard women boost prosperity and innovation in NSW,\u201d Mrs Taylor said.<br \/>\n\u201cWomen deserve to be celebrated for the outstanding contributions they make across our state in social, economic, cultural and political spheres.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cThere are still barriers women face, so we need to use this time to develop practical steps, foster resilience and spearhead change.\u201d<br \/>\nEvents during NSW Women\u2019s Week include an intergenerational forum tackling work-family balance, an entrepreneurship panel\u00a0on championing change and a networking event for rural and regional women.<br \/>\nThe $100,000 Women\u2019s Week Grants also enable 27 organisations to host programs &#8211; many regionally &#8211; including a cultural craft group, university tax clinic and mountain bike club.<br \/>\n\u201cWe want to empower women to make their own decisions, to move forward with confidence and know they can proactively create the future they want.
