{"id":10415,"date":"2021-02-24T16:37:46","date_gmt":"2021-02-24T16:37:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/?p=10415"},"modified":"2021-02-24T16:37:46","modified_gmt":"2021-02-24T16:37:46","slug":"covid-19-restrictions-eased-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.16news.com.au\/index.php\/2021\/02\/24\/covid-19-restrictions-eased-2\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS EASED"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Restrictions will be eased from 12.01am Friday, 26 February across Greater Sydney and NSW:<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 visitors will now be allowed in the home;<\/li>\n<li>30 people allowed to dance at weddings, with rotation on and off the dance floor;<\/li>\n<li>Increased class limits for gyms to 50 people (currently 30) subject to the 4sqm rule;<\/li>\n<li>Number of performers singing indoors increased to 30 (currently 5) subject to physical distancing requirements;<\/li>\n<li>Singing by congregants allowed in places of worship if masks are worn and subject to one person per 4sqm (currently no congregant singing allowed, with one per 2sqm permitted in places of worship);<\/li>\n<li>Increase capacity for cinemas to 100 per cent; and<\/li>\n<li>If current trends continue, drinking while standing up at indoor venues will be allowed in three weeks\u2019 time (from Wednesday, 17 March).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nPremier Gladys Berejiklian said the easing of restrictions was due to the support of the NSW community.<br \/>\n\u201cWith the rollout of the vaccine now underway, and no new locally acquired cases in NSW, we are able to make further changes towards a new \u2018COVID normal\u2019,\u201d Ms Berejiklian said.<br \/>\n\u201cI thank the community for following the health advice to keep the virus at bay. However, we cannot become complacent.\u201d<br \/>\nTreasurer Dominic Perrottet said today\u2019s announcement was another step forward for NSW.<br \/>\n\u201cEach time we are able to further ease restrictions it\u2019s another shot of confidence for the NSW economy,\u201d Mr Perrottet said.<br \/>\nHealth Minister Brad Hazzard said NSW has come a long way since the virus arrived here and we should be proud of the position we are in.<br \/>\n\u201cThis week NSW started rolling out the vaccine across the state and now we are further easing restrictions, which is a fantastic achievement,\u201d Mr Hazzard said.<br \/>\nDr Chant said while household gathering restrictions have been eased, people are urged to remember COVID-19 can be transmitted more easily in crowded indoor settings.<br \/>\n\u201cDon\u2019t attend these types of events if you have COVID-19 symptoms \u2013 instead get tested immediately and self-isolate.
