Police are investigating after fire destroyed a former clubhouse in Lake Macquarie overnight.
\nAbout 10.45pm (Sunday 21 February 2021), emergency services were called to a building on Maude Street, Belmont, following reports the former sports club was well alight.
\nFire and Rescue New South Wales crews extinguished the blaze a short time later.
\nOfficers from Lake Macquarie have established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.
